While this might sound bad, they outdid themselves, and it’s quite revolutionary. How is this different? Well, basically, it’s the ARM processor and graphics all in one. The box that the retail box ships basically holds it in suspension so that you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged, even with it coming all the way from China. In the retail box itself, you get the Mac mini, the power cord, and a small booklet. What’s in the boxĪpple is all about minimalism. And the Mac mini is an excellent choice for developers, bloggers, designers, and even casual video editors. So for me, a workstation is all about productivity. I don’t game on a PC or Mac that’s what my Xbox is for. Some people might view this as a negative, but it depends on what your objectives are. Hardware Acceleration - I recommend leaving this option ticked.From personal experience, previous versions of the Mac mini haven’t been that powerful. Retina Rendering - Similar to View Quality, you can change this as required but I find Automatic to be preferable. Use Precise Clipping - Leave unticked unless requiredįile Recovery Interval - Again I personally find 300 seconds is the right amount of time for this, but if you want a more/less frequent temporary-save, please change this as required. View Quality - This can be left on Bilinear, but if you want every drop of performance from the app, try changing this to Nearest Neighbour.ĭither Gradients - Leave this option ticked Undo Limit - I personally leave this at default 1024, any more than this and you may see performance drops, depending on your CPU & RAM & I have never found I needed to undo more that 1000 steps in one go! Ram Limit - either 8192MB or 16384MB, depending on if you have 8GB or 16GB of RAM installed.ĭisk Usage Warning - this is unlikely to affect performance, so please set this value to the maximum temporary disk space that you wish for Affinity to use when your RAM limit has been reached.
